Create Pedigree Dog Alliance to advise Kennel Club & Govt on dog breeding
The Issue
Crufts 2012 saw the introduction of vet checks for Best of Breed winners for the first time. This, and other changes, appears to have occurred because of the backlash show breeders and the Kennel Club suffered regarding the breeding of dogs with serious health defects intentionally. The Kennel Club have stood fast so far against the Canine Alliance, created by breeders and exhibitors immediately after Crufts who want the vet checks suspended. I believe we need to create an alliance that includes rescues, behaviourists and the many pet owners of pedigree dogs who would like to make representation to the KC and government about our breeds.
