Pay back Social Security now.

The Issue

As of the end of 1997, $655.5 billion has been borrowed (not "raided") and invested in government securities, backed by the full faith and credit of the U.S. Government. These investments are required under law to have maturities fixed with due regard to the needs of the Social Security trust funds.

There has been no COLA (cost of living allowance) increase in benefits to recipients for the last 2 years.  Yet, we bail out big corporations and Wall Street moguls while most Social Security Disability recipients are forced to live below poverty level.

This petition asks for an Executive Order to place paying back borrowed Social Security Trust Fund money as a top priority over concerns of the wealthy.
