In Maine, hunting is a HUGE part of our culture, and part of that culture is bear baiting. In order to hunt bears, and keep the population regulated many people use, traps,dogs,or bait. Many people think that this is cruel and inhumane because we are leading the bears toward us, making them an easy target, or hurting and injuring them with our traps and dogs. Any true bear hunter will tell you.  I started this petition because I believe that with enough signatures we can make a difference come this november and end the bear baiting referendum.
