Pass the California DREAM Act

The Issue

Gil Cedillo’s newly reintroduced California DREAM Act would allow United States citizens and undocumented AB-540 students in California the ability to compete for state financial aid and qualify for a BOG waiver.

Note: This is state-based legislation and oes not automatically grant any sort of immigration benefits on anyone.

Former Governor Schwarzenegger vetoed this well-intentioned bill for four years, citing fiscal concerns. Governor Brown has indicated his support for the legislation.

It's time to set another milestone and pave another way to deal with the broken immigration system after the failure of both CIR and the federal DREAM Act. As California goes, so goes the country.
