The Marchman Act is a Petiton for an Involuntary Assessment when there is good reason to believe that the substance abuser is impaired, due to substance abuse and has lost all self-control and is endangering theirself or others. One of the biggest problems in preventing addicts to get treatment is denial. This Act allows families to save their loved one from theirself in the event that the substance abuser is putting themselves in harms way.

Another common issue with drug abuse and addiction is very often there is an underlying mental health condition that goes unnoticed for years, allowing the addict to self-medicate to ease the feeling they have when they are sober. With the Marchman Act in place, it will allow addicts to recieve help sooner and get treated and if need-be, medicated for the right mental health issues, as well as becoming educated on the 12 steps, meetings, and learning how to live without drugs.

The Marchman Act will very well cut down on drug-related crimes, drug trafficking and create healthier, more informed families.

Pass The Marchman Act in Pennsylvania to help addicts and families become more educated and prevent

Greetings,

Please Pennsylvania, stop cuts in funding for The Drug and Alcohol Administration and pass The Marchman Act to help citizens of Pennsylvania with Addiction and Mental Health issues.

Addiction is a serious issue as well as drug trafficking and drug-related crime. The Marchman Act will allow more education for addicts and families on addiction and mental health. In many cases of addiction there is an underlying mental health condition that is untreated and the addict is self-medicating due to lack of knowledge of the mental health issue they are suffering from. It will allow the addict to recieve appropriate treatment to better chances of staying clean, when released from rehab and to continue ongoing treatment when needed. It will allow treatment and drug rehabilitation to be more accessible to addicts in denial. It allows families to petition an involuntary assessment for their loved ones that are out of control, and endagering their own lives due to substance abuse. It will cut down on drug trafficking and drug related crime by preventing addicts from buying from drug traffickers as well as preventing crimes that take place while a person is under the influence of drugs. Keeping funding at an adequate level for The Drug and Alcohol Administration and Mental Health Programs allows Pennsylvania to help citizens of Pennsylvania better and more adequately, and to prevent relapse and keep citizens well informed.

Pleas pass The Marchman Act in Pennsylvania, so families may help their loved ones in a timely manner. Pass The Marchman Act to educate the less educated. Pass The Marchman as an approach to cut down on drug trafficking and drug-related crimes.
