Historically the beach has been used for typical beach enjoyment such as sun bathing, watching the sunset, building sandcastles, etc.  We understand and support the need to enforce posted regulations prohibiting afterhours use, bonfires, alcohol, as well as parking restrictions that assure driveway access for the property owners.  But, due to complaints of the property owner south of the beach, the historically reasonable use activities are now also being restricted.

From our on-line research and discussion with our State Representative, we believe that the townships have the power to use their discretion to determine what constitutes reasonable use for road end beaches of this type.  We are, therefore, asking the townships to jointly exercise their authority to continue the historical use of this road end as a beach for beach enjoyment.   

We each have a personal story to tell about why this beach is important to us. For decades, this beach is a place where the nearby community goes to watch sunset, families spend their summers, and couples get engaged. We don’t want to see these special moments taken away from us.
