Due to the killing cold all New England states has last hope Aid. It is for both people with and With-out kids.

All the New England states and fifteen or more states, has the last hope in aid.  When you can no longer afford to pay your own rent, food, heat, medical prescriptions, there are state laws which govern a program called by three different names in the last hope aid, in the North east.  In Maine it’s called General Assistance, in New Hampshire, it s called Town Welfare, in the remaining cold new England states, its call general relief.

Aid is suppose to be validly applied in a manner inconsistent or contrary to the state law. In reality, to save cash each state law’s seem to be uniformly BADLY applied. Resulting in without a drop of compassion by the trusted officials, people who are eligible are being harshly denied.

In the long run this erroneous practice fails save the town or city cash. It comes out of the state when the homeless is hospitalized.

Hospitality House Inc. want your help in ending this injustice of American Laws. If you think its unjust to turn away eligible people from aid, please tell these lawmakers so by signing this petition to make them aware that good laws are being badly utilized.

Some other states flock to duplicate some Maine programs. And you need not reside in Maine to ask for fairness. If our lawmakers know people across the nation and the world are following their actions they might do the right thing.

Accountibility of Trusted Officials, in Aid

Greetings to the Lawmakers on the Joint Human Serivice Committee,

Us listed below, wish for the human and American rights to be treated fairly by even the application of law. We wish aid to the poor, to be respected in the administration. This last hope program is also called General Assistance, in Maine. State law has penalties for applicant’s who lies to officials. But none for the trusted and relied upon officials who misrepresent state laws, to those who has no other place to turn for monetary aid.

Over 2/3 of families and individuals, who apply at town halls or a designated place are wrongfully refused aid. In Maine, the good state laws are twisted into bad ones. We are asking good laws are fairly applied the first time every time.

We do not wish to see bad laws based upon myths as those will not save taxpayers funds only cause increased human hardship. The bill number is LD# 1431

We at Hospitality House Inc. is asking that a law saying people are suppose to be considered on need alone, are falsely denied on how long they lived in the town. Or how liked they are, or aren't. We at this small non profit ask’s that the bills dealing with accountability of officials are passed.
We the undersigned think “Fairness in the Application of Law, Is Important”, no matter what US state, or country we live in.
Sincerely,
