Ducks shouldn’t get a death sentence for doing what comes naturally—especially when long-term, effective, and humane solutions exist. No mother deserves to come home to find her babies gone. And we shudder to think of what you do with those babies when you steal them from their home.

Although a single family of ducks can hardly be considered overpopulation, effective, humane methods of waterfowl control exist. They do not target the animals themselves but rather the things that attract them the area. Methods such as population stabilization, site aversion, public education, and other deterrents can be used to control waterfowl populations humanely. With a little research you can find these methods.

We, as students of NEIU, are outraged at this needless and cruel act against the ducks in the courtyard and demand that they be treated with compassion.
