For the safety of Brambleton Residents we would like to petition the Brambleton HOA to make Regal Wood Drive, from Olympia to Vickery Park, a No Street Parking Zone. We would like this change because the road is not wide enough, poor visibility and homeowner's have an impossible time turning into their driveways.
No Street Parking on Regal Wood Drive between Olympia and Vickery Park
Greetings Brambleton HOA and other concerned parties
For the safety of Brambleton residents we would like to petition the Brambleton HOA to make Regal Wood Drive, from Olympia to Vickery Park, a No Street Parking Zone.
Our reasoning for this change is for the safety of our residents. Regal Wood is simply not wide enough for two cars heading in opposite directions to pass while a car is parked in the street - the parking effectively makes it a one lane road. With Regal Wood being one of the major roads used to get in and out of the town center by Brambleton residents, this poses a problem. Additionally, parked cars cause visibility problems. It can be difficult to see children crossing the street in front of a parked car - this is a significant issue on Regal Wood with a large bus stop at the corner of Cartier. Visibility at the corner of Regal Wood and Olympia is significantly reduced, causing problems when crossing over Olympia into the town center. Lastly, residents trying to park in their driveways opposite of a street-parked car encounter difficulties because the available space to turn into the driveway is reduced significantly.
These safety issues need immediate action and we feel the only solution is to not allow street parking on Regal Wood Drive between Olympia and Vickery Park.
