Hello this is my first petition and im VERY VERY passionate about this.

 

A ban on gay marriage is bad as the institutional racism of US laws for decades --- And that did not make it right then or now. The laws against same sex marriage are still not right today.

 

On august 10

A federal judge in California ruled that the state's same-sex marriage ban amounts to unconstitutional discrimination and should be immediately struck down.

"Proposition 8 fails to advance any rational basis in singling out gay men and lesbians for denial of a marriage license," wrote U.S. District Court Judge Vaughn Walker in a 136-page decision. "Indeed, the evidence shows Proposition 8 does nothing more than enshrine in the California Constitution the notion that opposite-sex couples are superior to same-sex couples."

Walker issued a stay on the order overturning Prop 8 to allow supporters of the measure to argue why it should remain in effect while pursuing an appeal. The case is expected to reach the U.S. Supreme Court.

Hello there, my name is Tyler Walsh, and I am a bisexual twenty year old woman in california. Born and raised. I was raised to love anyone and not hate or discriminate. Now that I am older I want to be able to have the choice to marry a woman if i choose in my own state. Here i have a petition signed by people who either support me or have the same feelings as I do. We are doing our best to stand up for what we believe in and please take in consideration the number of people I have who signed this to re appeal prop 8 in california. If pot is practically legal and that does more harm then help then why would who i choose to marry effect anyone? How many times have people died due to same sex marriage? Gotten a DUI cause of same sex marriage? Or spent all their money on it? I know I am rambling on Governor, but I have never done this before and this is a huge deal for me that i have been battling with since our rights got taken from us. Please help us!
