A university campus should be a comfortable and safe environment for all of its students, not just some of them, and when something comes along that serves to damage the inherent dignity of every individual it is our responsibility to work against that. Our campuses and communities should not be a home for any company or organization that seeks to work against the interests of our community.

Chick-fil-A has a long history of anti-gay bigotry. The company's "charity arm", the WinShape Foundation, has hosted conferences on "defending marriage" and praised prominent heterosexist activists like David Blankenhorn for their work on the issue. They have also supported Dr. Dobson's Focus on the Family, a prominent and out-and-proud bigoted organization, along with the Pennsylvania Family Institute with which it has planned the anti-gay "Art of Marriage" event. 

Our petition will send the message that we will not stand by and fund intolerance and bigotry.
