According to Nielsen Cable Ratings in 1996, they received a 2 point rating that equaled 1,940,000 viewers per episode. That same viewership in 2012 would equal 3,294,047 viewers per episode. For reference, "Sponge Bob Square Pants" received in January 2012, a 2.7 point rating of 4,447,000 viewers.

The fans petition Nickelodeon/Viacom to revive "Legends of the Hidden Temple" by creating newly produced episodes of this popular series.
