Stop selling disrespectful Native American-inspired items.

Stop selling disrespectful Native American-inspired items.
The Issue
"It is okay to find our stuff beautiful, because it is. It is okay to admire our culture. However I then think it is reasonable to ask that if you admire a culture, you should learn more about it. Especially when the details are so much more fascinating than say, outdated stereotypes." - Chelsea Vowel.
Almost a month ago, I emailed Next Millennium (an occult store in Omaha) about the misuse of dream catchers at their store. Dream catchers are a spiritual symbol that many Native American tribes hold sacred, but that symbolism does not correspond with its commercialized as some sort of charm that can be pasted willy-nilly onto items, clothing, or even bodies.
This store prides itself with quality items, but selling disrespectful versions of the dream catcher is not quality. I'm referring specifically to charm bags, earrings, or other decorative dream catchers.
Essentially, Next Millennium is a pillar for the pagan community in Omaha. They can set an example for other pagans to listen to oppressed minorities, factually learn about other cultures, and to most importantly respect other cultures. By ignoring the issues I brought to attention, I do not see this type of leadership.
I hope that this petition will help Next Millennium understand that this issue is not just my view, but that others wish for the same type of responsibility from a metaphysical store that does have a focus on outreach.
