The new design of NBCnews.com, launched on February 5, 2014, emulates Windows 8 in block graphics, displaying far less content and information, and making the site considerably less useful to users.  A graphics-rich site with large images may be appropriate for an entertainment site, but it does not provide the content navigation and information display that readers seeking dense information content require.

Thousands of users have posted on the NBCnews Facebook page protesting the change, but as of February 7, 2014, NBC has not responded .  This petition is a stronger statement to express our dissatisfaction with the new design and request reinstatement of the old design or a design with similar content-rich, word-based navigation.  A suitable alternative would be an option to choose between the two formats.
