Elected Officials: Wear NASCAR Patches Representing Money Sources

The Issue

There's recently been an idea circulating on the internet. The idea is that members of Congress should be required to wear NASCAR style patches on their suits representing the campaign contributions they received in their last winning bid. These patches are the logos from PACs, corporations, unions, and other organizations that provided funding (proportional to amount given).

If politicians wore these patches, it would a first step toward transparency and disclosure regarding the role of money in politics. It could shame chronic offenders into rejecting special interests and becoming true representatives of the people who elect them.

Urge Bernie Sanders, a true independent voice in the Senate, to take up this cause and bring about real, imaginative change that strengthens our democracy. This CAN be a grassroots effort for change. Let's get the word out!
