Municipality of Stirling Rawdon: Change laws so that domestic house cats must be kept indoors
Municipality of Stirling Rawdon: Change laws so that domestic house cats must be kept indoors
The Issue
It's a frequent sight in Stirling. Stray cats diseased and malnourished roaming around, or dead on the side of the road. But the kicker is that the stray cats aren't strays at all, they have owners who simply let them out of the house to roam free. Because of this cats are much more susceptible to disease and harm, including fights with other cats and larger animals such as dogs, raccoons, and coyotes (all of which are common in the area) but also to traffic. Allowing this simply isn't right. Cats may act like they want to be let outside to roam free, but it doesn't mean it's good for them. They're like children under your care, and if someone let a child out to roam the streets freely all day and night, they'd be charged. Such should be the case here.
