American families should not be forced to choose separation or exile during I601 processing.  

The right of United States citizens to marry whom they please should always have been protected by our laws.  The sanctity of our American marriages and the value of our American families will be affirmed by promptly implementing this small proposed change in the rules.

Taking the little step of implementing the proposed I601 processing rule will benefit not only thousands of US citizens and their families but also this great country of ours, by bringing immigration policy a little more into line with common sense American values.

The husbands and wives and children of US citizens are legally eligible for green cards.  We should not have to choose between life as outlaws or exiles because the immigration system fails us.
