Why This Is Important

We wish to preserve the character, integrity and fabric of Foxborough and surrounding towns. A Casino would inalterably change our communities for generations to come. No amount of mitigation would offset or protect us from drastic changes to our community and way of life.

Casino liscences are for 75 years,.. long after most of us will be gone. This is not the legacy we want to leave for our children and those who come after us.

Please Withdraw Casino Proposal

Dear Mr. Kraft,


I have signed this on-line petition to respectfully ask that you withdraw your proposal to lease land for the development of a casino in Foxborough. No amount of money or other enticements can mitigate the adverse impact that a casino will have on our neighborhoods and the greater region.

As you said when you first proposed this idea, "In the end, this town is my partner, and if they don’t want it, I'll respect that." More recently, you stated “If it is not well received, not believed or not felt it is good, then we will move on." It is clear that this proposal has not been well received and it does not have the support of the community. On December 27 the majority of the Foxborough Board of Selectmen voted in opposition to the casino based upon the overwhelmingly negative reaction to your proposal by the residents of Foxborough and surrounding communities.

You also stated that you are looking for “legacy” projects. Your greatest gift to the people of this region would be to honor the vote of the Foxborough Selectmen: a vote that respects the residents, the character, and integrity of our towns. A casino does not fit your model of success nor will it leave the type of legacy that you would want to be associated with.

Your respect for the vote of the Foxborough Selectmen will ensure that the residents of Foxborough, Walpole, and Norfolk remember the Kraft family name in a positive light. Your greatest contributions will remain your ownership of the New England Patriots, your first class developments, and your philanthropy to so many deserving institutions.

Please keep your word and leave a legacy that future generations will respect and admire.
