Dear County Executive Leggett:

The North Potomac Community Recreation Center needs your continued support NOW.

In 1998, visionary county planners saw the need for our community to have its own recreation center. Almost a decade and a half later we have a location and a completed design which includes an exciting combination of sporting/exercise, social and educational uses. The North Potomac Community Recreation Center will improve the lives of thousands each year. NOW is the time to fund the construction of the North Potomac Community Recreation Center!

NOW is the time County Executive Leggett to be bold and prudent. Challenging times often require bold moves. In this instance inclusion of construction funding in the upcoming CIP is the smart, fiscally-prudent decision. Delaying this project once again will only make it even more expense to build later.

NOW is the time County Executive Leggett to reaffirm Montgomery County's commitment to the center and its residents by including construction funding in the FY 2013-18 proposed Capital Improvement Program ("CIP") budget.

NOW is the time to continue funding for the recreation center. Recreation centers build communities and North Potomac residents have already waited fourteen years for this center to be built.
