"Convicted rapist Monte Hoisington may be released from the Special Commitment Center at McNeil Island if he no longer meets the criteria of a sexually violent predator. Hoisington is represented by attorney C. Dale Slack of Dayton.Hoisington, now 60 and facing health problems, was sentenced to life in prison in 1991 for raping an Asotin County woman in Clarkston, but appealed that decision and won. In 2000, a judge upheld a plea bargain limiting his sentence to 10 years, and Asotin County prosecutors filed a petition alleging he is a sexually violent predator, which led to his confinement at McNeil Island.
