According to Monsanto, their "pledge is our commitment to how we do business. It is a declaration that compels us to listen more, to consider our actions and their impact broadly, and to lead responsibly. It helps us to convert our values into actions, and to make clear who we are and what we champion."
If this is what you truly stand for, we urge you to simply label your products that contain genetically engineered products.
Numerous polls and millions of Americans have spoken out that we would like the right to know what is in our food; please voluntarily label genetically modified foods.
Label it and stand behind your product!
Greetings,
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Monsanto Executives and Board of Directors and Top Food Producers.
Label it and stand behind your product!
According to Monsanto, their "pledge is our commitment to how we do business. It is a declaration that compels us to listen more, to consider our actions and their impact broadly, and to lead responsibly. It helps us to convert our values into actions, and to make clear who we are and what we champion."
The American public has been polled numerous times-Thomson Reuters PULSE Healthcare Survey, MSNBC and ABC News-and 93-96% said they wanted GMO foods labeled.
A California ballot initiative titled "California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act" is aligned for the November 2012 election. It is rumored that you have pledged to fight this initiative just as you have done others in the past. That is a tremendous amount of resources to waste, which could be otherwise used for product development, charitable works or even the transition in labeling your product.
If the aforementioned pledge is truly what you stand for, we urge you to "LISTEN MORE" and simply label foods containing your products by voluntarily complying with the proposed “California Right to Know Genetically Engineered Food Act" on a nationwide level.
Sincerely,
[Your name]
