For more than fifty years Shorthills Provincial Park has been a sanctuary for wildlife and suddenly the safety of hundreds of deer is now in jeopardy. This natural habitat has been their home and safe haven and they are now at risk of being killed by hunters that will be  hunting them for the next two weekends. In addition, this hunt was not widely publicized (residents backing onto the park were not even notified) and this puts them, as well as park visitors, at risk. Please sign this petition to help stop the  hunt that will soon take place.

“It depends on a lot of things. If there are too many protesters out there and we just walk away, then that's what we'll do. It's really about safety and our concern for the environment,” he said. Please act accordingly!!!

 UPDATE: The MNR and First Nations hunters are currently in negotiations to have another hunt within the park in fall of 2013.  This will be for an extended period of time, as well with the possibility of the use of shotguns.
