This is the first SPIRIT BEAR in the world to be taken from the wild and placed in a zoo because some anthropologists who were in his territory left garbage around and then hand fed him. There are possibly less than 400 left from many thousands. They are endangered, and many groups feel that this has put a price on their heads, as the manager of the zoo has admitted this bear is worth more than a million dollars to the park.
