In this day and age, recess is vital to our children's health, both mental and physical. It is atrocious enough that elementary school children only receive 15 minutes of recess a day; now, in a misguided effort to atone for missed school days due to the harsh winter, you, the School Board members who are supposed to advocate for our children, have decided that shortening the already-too-little amount of recess to 10 minutes is an appropriate solution. Give recess back to our children. Add another day onto the end of the year. Take away a day of Spring Break. Do not cut what little time the children already have to be carefree.
