Our men and women in uniform have put themselves harm's way for our benefit in Iraq since 2003. With the close of this costly chapter in American history, we owe it to them to show our appreciation for their sacrifice.
There is no such thing as premature honor. We, the undersigned, completely disagree that holding a parade would be inappropriate, and if anything, would galvanize our troops serving around the world by showing how much we support their service.
Our service members don't create policy. They take orders and carry them out. They are an apolitical entity. Don't fail to recognize them because politicians in Washington feel a parade would be sending the wrong message.
Hold a parade for veterans of the War in Iraq.
Greetings,
I just signed the following petition addressed to: Mayor Bloomberg and the City of New York.

Hold a parade for veterans of the War in Iraq.
