My 8 year old daughter is type 1 diabetic and upon hearing of the Bald and Beautiful Barbie movement, she asked me why there wasn't a Diabetic Barbie available too. So, we are hoping to gather enough support and make Mattel see that a Diabetic version of their doll complete with insulin pump, pens, and blood sugar meter would be a FANTASTIC thing for all kiddos! It would be a great educational toy, help spread awareness, AND help make kids living with this disease feel special.
