France doesn't respect Berne convention for the protection of wolves

France doesn't respect Berne convention for the protection of wolves
The Issue
By interministerial order of May 27th 2009, the wolf was removed from list of protected endangered species in France. Now, France doesn't respect Berne convention for the protection of wolves : The dispensations for shooting them down can be easily delivered by the prefects of departments. This order, for purely political appeal to farmers and hunters, is a scandal for many reasons (see below).
It must be canceled by a moratorium under the leadership of scientists worldwide.
1) No independent scientific institution has been concerted.
2) The number of wolves is wrong and absurd in a cross-border system.
3) Genetic data show unambiguously that the Swiss and French wolves are Canis Lupus Italicus (recolonization of wild wolves from Italy). It's therefore a natural expansion of italian wolves in Western Europe, the other assumptions are not based on any scientific data.
4) DNA analysis of these wolves reveals low genetic diversity which implies reduced adaptation potential to a new environment and a risk of inbreeding . It is therefore essential to promote the proliferation of wolf packs and a strong demographic and spatial expansion.
5) This order is an insult to nature and a scientific nonsense
