In the past ~40 years the USA Gross Domestic Product has skyrocketed from under 500 billion per year to over 16 Trillion per year. Yet in that same time period, average wages have fallen despite the fact that the average person works much harder to get by than they had to in 1970. All of those gains have been concentrated in the pockets of the top 5% of Americans.

Even companies that have seen increases by hundreds of millions of dollars per year have laid off thousands of people and paid the remaning employees less to do their jobs and the jobs of those who have been fired.

Right now our economy is doing great, but still none of it filters down to the average person. What I suggest we do is fix that in one easy step:

Lets Demand that all workers get paid at the very least 60% of the value they add to a company. This limits exploitation to half of what a person brings into a company, but it doesn't create the problems that increasing minimum wage does, while still bringing trillions of dollars a year into the middle class.

The influx of money to the middle class will cause an economic boom, allowing millions of Americans to afford to start their own businesses with their own ideas, and give all of us the purchasing power that the average American hasn't had since the golden 50's.
