Fox Penning is a cruel blood-sport that needs to be banned in Virginia. Virginia is one of the foremost states with the best animal welfare legislation yet, foxes in Virginia suffer everyday especially during hunting season from repeated acts of cruelty. It's time that we do something and speak on behalf of those who are unable to speak for themselves.

There are 20 states in this country that allow Fox Penning for "training" foxhounds. These foxes are captured and traded across state lines to be thrown in a 100 acre pen with no way to escape while they are chased, hunted down, and ripped apart by hounds. This senseless act of cruelty needs to be stopped.

Write, email, or call you local legislators and tell them to ban Fox Penning in Virginia.

Make Fox Penning Illegal in Virginia

Greetings Fellow Animal Lovers,

Help make Fox Penning illegal in Virginia. Virginia is ranked 12th in the United States as having some of the best animal welfare legislation. However, there is one area that desperately needs attention. As of late Fox Penning has gained the attention of animal welfare supporters and advocates in Virginia. This blood-sport also called foxhound training entails trapping foxes in the wild, selling them to hunters, and releasing them in pens where they are chased until exhaustion and most times until they are ripped apart by hundreds of foxhounds. Many supporters of this heinous and senseless act of animal cruelty believe this is a merely good natured fun for the hounds and the foxes and often bring their families along with them to witness the hunt.

Virginia is one of 20 states that have legislation regulating the blood-sport of fox penning and has around 40 state licensed fox pens. Simply regulating this blood-sport is not enough. Join the effort to ban fox penning in Virginia by contacting your local legislator by phone, email, or in person.
