One of the proposals currently under consideration by the Loudoun BOS is to establish a Special Metrorail Tax District to pay for the cost of bringing the Silver Line to Loudoun. The Special tax area includes residential properties within an approximate 2-mile zone around the Silver Line Stations and is identified in the a map posted by the Board of Supervisors. http://www.flickr.com/photos/omagi/7211416828/ This is a petition specifically to tell the BOS that the proposal of a Special Two-mile Metrorail Tax District with a $0.21 per $100 of assessed property value is unreasonable and unfair to the residents of the Broadlands and other identified nearby communities. To be clear, this is not a petition for or against the extension of the Silver Line to Loudoun County. We believe that if the choice is made to bring the Silver Line to Loudoun County for the benefit of all of Loudoun County, then all of Loudoun County should be responsible for the cost and it should not be the burden of a very small segment of the residents.  We therefore oppose the creation of a Special Tax District to pay for the extension of the Silver Line to Loudoun County.
