Logan Booting

Logan Booting
The Issue
Cache Valley Auto Booting, which holds 90% of the student housing parking believes they hold ultimate authority unbridled by the law. They will arbitrarily change their own rules to make a profit. Experience has shown that they boot first and then try to justify the act later. There are clearly perverse incentives to allowing them to continue booting. Their business survives because of their deceitful and predatory tactics. There is no mechanism to enforce the current code to protect the rights of tenants.
In February, representatives from Utah State University Student Government will approach the Logan City Council on behalf of frustrated students. We will argue for a change in Logan Ordinance 10.52.285. Our goal is to have reasonable measures of parking enforcement that do not infinge on tenants rights to peace and privacy.
