Many venues charge a very high fee for bands to provide entertainment to their patrons. Usually, this means that the band walks away with a fraction of what was made at the door (either through ticket sales or cover charges). Sometimes, musicians end up paying the venue, and leaving with nothing to show for their hard work.

This petition is to encourage bands to avoid expensive venues, and not use ticket-selling schemes.

We collectively support local music, which means not being raped by those that only claim to support local music. To the venues that charge bands high prices: We will not use you. You will be forced to close your doors.
