Dr. Mai'a Cross has been denied tenure at USC, which means that by the end of Academic Year 2013 she won't be reappointed as Assistant Professor.

* Pass the link to your classmates (and former classmates)

* As students (and alumni), we would certainly have an interest in the future of the program

* Making known independently our reaction to Dr. Cross non-reappointment would certainly help her case.

* It would make the university community aware of the depth of our concern.

* Teaching should also be taken seriously at any university. USC should have top-notch scholars who are also constantly striving to be great teachers. Of course, the two things are not mutually exclusive

* She deserves tenure on the basis of her research and scholarly impact alone.

* She has support from professors both at Annenberg and SIR and are also determined to make the best case for the appeal.
