This is extremely important because the Carson shelter is known for lacking innovative, compassionate, transparent and non-judgmental leadership. To the contrary, the apathetic and vindictive way in which this shelter has been run has alienated community, rescuers, volunteers, staff, and quite literally any other person that has wanted to make a positive difference for their impounded shelter animals. Josh will maintain an open mind, give up salary for essential programs and resources, put an end to in-house breed prejudice, empower both the volunteers and the staff, engage the community, live by the concept of transparency and vow to not continue the status quo of doing as little as possible in the framework of a backwards and entrenched system.
