Year around, this time especially, countless deer are hit on our highways. Understandably, some can not be avoided. But many can if people would just slow down a little and pay attention. Deer from little babies to record bucks have been slaughtered time and time again. I believe putting up specialty signs like the 'Children at Play' signs would help. Obviously the standard 'Deer Crossing' signs are not efficient. I think deer signs, possibly cut outs of deer that are bright yellow or orange with two reflectors would be reasonable and effective.
