The animals of the Carson and Barnes Circus are inhumanely housed and transported; the trainers use abusive tools and methods to make elephants do tricks; and there is improper care of animals and lax or nonexistent veterinary care. Children who attend roadside circuses may grow up believing large, wild animals exist to entertain people and may become insensitive to the elements of abuse and neglect inherent in traveling circuses.
