Currently, the GAA Club uses land leased from the Department of Defence but the site is too small and not capable of being developed in any way. Furthermore, Athgarvan lacks a community facility that could be used to accommodate meetings and indoor social, sport and recreation activities.
If the GAA club was to acquire suitable lands on which to construct playing pitches and changing rooms, it would be only too willing to work with the Council and the wider community to provide such a facility.
