Keep Morrice Lions Club Open!

Keep Morrice Lions Club Open!

The Issue

The Morrice Michigan Lions Club organized in 1946,  and is due to close because of inactive/ lack of members. This Lions Club over the years has sponsored many festivals and activities to bring fun and also most importantly to raise money for the visually impared who are in need of assistance getting vision care.

This Lions Club was unique because it had its very own club house and quite a large park that included a pavilion and baseball diamond which was used by many people for family reunions, graduation parties and local baseball teams. The most dedicated members were older and have most all passed away along with the recent downfall of the economy in the area when people lost their jobs and moved away.

The Lions Club still stayed strong through all of this until the clubhouse was extensively damaged due to water leaking into building which left no option but to totally gut the building to save the structure. Not having a clubhouse left the one place the club could hold fund raising dinners such as their popular fish fry on Friday's and other events. The few remaining members lost hope and gave up but now is the time we should be giving back by signing this petition to help this wonderful organization stay in the community of Morrice Michigan instead of being forgotten like so many other non profit clubs of the past. Please Sign this and help, this is the last hope.
