Keep the Franklin Animal Shelter OPEN!!

Keep the Franklin Animal Shelter OPEN!!
The Issue
The City of Franklin, NH is looking to end the funding of the animal shelter. The shelter has been in operation for the past 30 years, with the last several years under the supervision of Wendy Douglass, the shelter manager. Wendy Douglass is a selfless, devoted lover of the unwanted and stray animals of the Franklin- Tilton area. Many animals have been found left for dead or abandoned in the middle of the night at the shelter. Wendy and her volunteers have taken the love, time, and commitment to nurse these poor animals back to health. All the while, they find loving "furrrever" homes for the animals. The City has been considering contracting the animal control issue to the City of Laconia which is willing to do it for half the cost. The problem is that the Laconia Animal Shelter is over 20 miles away and a lot of people are willing to neglect their animals, forget getting anyone to travel 20 miles to surrender their animals. Not only does she care for unclaimed animals, Wendy Douglass reunites families with missing pets. Many times, a wandering or lost pet ends up at the shelter. Wendy has been blessing families with happy reunions for years. Wendy, the volunteers, and all of the sweet animals deserve a happy ending.
The shelter is scheduled to close June 30th, should a different decision not be made. Until then, please consider donating to the shelter or stopping by one of their fundraising efforts. http://www.franklinanimalshelter.com/
