This morning(5/22/14), we let our foster cat Mitty in to find that he had been very badly hurt. We rushed him to the vet having no idea what had happened. Our first thoughts were that he had been hit by a car or that he might have been in a fight with another animal. After the Vet and her team worked on him and did x-rays, they delivered very disturbing news. They believe that Mit's severe, blunt-force trauma to his head and face was caused by a human. Someone intentionally abused our sweet kitty! It's an absolute nightmare to even think that anyone could harm an animal, especially your own neighbors. Please be vigilant and report any abuse you see!

This incident occurred in the French St./ Vera Rd. area of Bristol, CT.

Mitty is in very serious condition. His jaw was broken, dislocated and his head, eyes and nose are bloody and swollen from the hit he endured. As the day progresses, he is being very closely watched and his pain is being managed. The Vet is worried that other issues and possible bleeds might occur as the day goes on. Even with a bashed face, Mit still wanted to be pet by the staff and still managed to muster up some of his purs.

We know that many of you enjoy seeing the photos we post of Mitty hanging out with his very best dog friend, Mia... and that many of you have considered adopting him. Please say a prayer and send some healing vibes for our sweet guy's recovery.

Mitty is on a long road to recovery and we are seeing to it he is being kept as pain free as possible. He seems to be making wonderful progress right now and is getting better and stronger each and every day!!!

Animals have just as much right to this world as we do...please kindly refrain from any and all debates concerning the indoor/outdoor debate!!!

Laws need to be toughened as well for anyone found guilty of, or caught to be abusing any animal...please sign this petition, share it far and wide!!!
We want to see justice for Mitty and hopefully make those responsible, accountable for the hurt and pain they cause.
Abusing an animal needs to be considered a felony, and jail time, as well as fines should also be given.
We are also strongly behind the creation of a "National Animal Abuse Offender's List", adding those found guilty of ANY abuse towards ANY animal...to this list!!!
