This month, sixteen-year-old lynching victim Jordy Alberto marks the first anniversary that was burned alive in Oaxaca, Mexico. The murder occurred on Feb.18, 2010. An extremely cruel and barbaric act that goes unpunished, even when they are identified his attackers and has sufficient evidence to incriminate them. Jordy was accused of stealing without any proof. Taxi drivers participated in the lynching of a taxi drivers' union close to government power. The taxi drivers - in front of the police and the press - beat him, pour gasoline on his body and have ignited in fire.
Jordi's mother, Mrs. Marahi Ortega Garcia asks to Mexican Authorities to investigate the incident so that the culprits be duly punished by the act, but she has only received denials and laughs of satisfaction of people who think that "justice was done".
In Mexico, the justice system is in crisis. We ask the international community help in order to restore The rule of law and Justice for the murder of this young man.
We ask all those, organizations and individuals, which support human rights to join us in this cause.
Stop injustice in Mexico!
Please, help a mother to have peace through effective Justice!
