Joint POW/MIA Accountability Command (JPAC): Recover the fallen Airman of the "Diana Mite"
The Issue
As an American I am very proud of our history and the dedication we have toward our soldiers. As a Veteran I have a bond with my nation that can only be understood by my fellow veterans. In 2012 my friends and I were out metal detecting in a wooded area near Stuttgart Germany. On this trip my friends and I found the crash site of an American bomber from WWII. We also found human remains among the wreckage. We reported the crash to the American agency responsible for recovering the remains of our fallen heroes the Joint POW/MIA accountability command (JPAC). Unfortunately JPAC informed me that the site had already been evaluated in the late 1940's and all the human remains had already been identified. They also informed me that they had no intention of excavating the site. Unlike JPAC as a veteran and an American I cannot stand by idly while the remains of a fallen hero lay in a foreign country rotting away. I hope that enough people will sign this petting and it will force JPAC to do their job and recover the remains of this Airman and bring him home to American soil.
