The Certified Humane Raised and Handled program is a certification and labeling program that is the only animal welfare label requiring the humane treatment of farm animals from birth through slaughter. The goal of the program is to improve the lives of farm animals by driving consincludes nutrious diet without antibiotics or hormones, animals raised with shelter, resting areas, sufficient space and the ability to engage in natural behaviours.

Currently, over 80% of all antibiotics sold in the U.S. are going directly into livestock feed. Big agriculture companies keep a steady trace of antibiotics in farm animals’ food to prevent disease in the crowded, unsanitary conditions they keep the animals.
