The Issue
STARLIGHT to JELLYFISH Ent.
Please note that this is the opinion that has been collected from the fans of VIXX with full discussion.
It should also be noticed that this represents the views of a great number of STARLIGHTs, which must not be neglected.
In addition, please keep in mind that this is not a unilateral request to Jellyfish entertainment, but requests for adjustments towards the unsolved and intricate problems that have been held in their management process.
It has been almost two years since VIXX’s debut; which is an important period to appeal to the public. At this important moment, it is strongly believed that the numerous issues that have been brought up are no single incidents but a habitual matters of the company.
First, we request attitude improvements of the staffs of Jellyfish Entertainment.
Despite the fact that VIXX had debuted as singers, they are also actively performing in various fields such as entertainment shows, magazine photography, and performances. Nevertheless, there have been complaints issued about the employees of Jellyfish Ent. from other fields of the entertainment industry. The attitude of the staff and employees of Jellyfish, not that of the VIXX's members, are being issued with many problems.
Jellyfish Entertainment would be certainly well aware that it is important for VIXX to create a good image not only to the public, but also to the people engaged in the entertainment industry. However, there are concerns due to the inappropriate and impolite attitudes being aroused by staffs of the company. Due to this, we are concerned that VIXX's images will turn into 'a group don't want to work with', and this is a problem that should be recognized as a critical one and be alerted not only to the fans, but definitely to Jellyfish Ent.
Thus, it is requested that the company seek improvements in the attitude of the staffs to such measures in the future. More care on VIXX's image, towards the staffs in the entertainment industry as well as the public, is asked.
Second, we request apologies for the impolite and unfair mistreatment the fans have received and ask for improvements.
Until today, Jellyfish Ent. has frequently asked and collected an excessive number of personal information of the fans including the social security number, name, and contact information, in the name of 'a smooth process of fan-related events' such as fan-signing events and fan-club recruits.
Also their condescending attitudes and rude behaviors to STARLIGHTs who came to support VIXX's performance in music open broadcasting have been constantly witnessed by many STARLIGHTs. Additionally, there have also been issues of changes in schedule not being noticed promptly. Modifications concerning changes in seats, time, and cancellation of events were not delivered correctly.
Information notice of such changes or cancellations was not properly announced beforehand, and there has been no relevant apology on these matters. Also treatment and compensation regarding these issues were insufficient. Such treat infers that the fans' support has been taken for granted by Jellyfish Ent.
For these reasons, we request improvement and apologies towards these matters.
Third, we claim proper management of the official fan club, smooth communication, and feedback for requests from the fans.
Currently, in the official fan sites, information such as the schedule of VIXX and sale of goods is being uploaded. However, it seems that in other aspects, VIXX's official fan cafe and the official fan club is not being properly managed.
For example, when selling goods of the first-STARLIGHT fan club began, there have been delays in upgrading the website membership, and fans had great difficulty in purchasing the goods. In addition, there has been a change of price from the pre-announcement.
Also, other information of VIXX's official schedule such as broadcasting dates, interviews, magazine release, DVD release dates, has not been uploaded on time.
In many fan pages including the official fan cafe, fans are sharing diverse opinions on VIXX's performances as well as the management performance of Jellyfish Ent. It is true that the management department should not be swayed by the opinions of fans, but they should learn to accept the ones that have been issued by the public. However, despite all that debate, it seems that Jellyfish Ent. is continuously ignoring the fans’ voices.
If the company shows respect to STARLIGHTs by monitoring the feedback and shows some effort to modify the problems that have been mentioned above, there will be no further argument in the future.
There might be fans who concern that DVD boycott may give damage to VIXX in any kind of way.
However, VIXX FAN UNION is not fighting back just to protect our own rights.
The main reason why we decided to push this ahead is that VIXX’s image has already been damaged following loss of chance to work in other fields of entertainment industry due to impolite and inappropriate behavior of staffs of Jellyfish Ent. towards people in entertainment industry.
Despite the fact that we have been constantly trying to make a point requesting for improvement and feedback from Jellyfish Ent. on regarding matter, Jellyfish Ent. chose to remain silent.
For this reason, we could not help but decided to boycott the DVD to give them a direct impact in hope of hearing any kind of feedback from the company.
We understand the confusion that foreign STARLIGHTs might have when you heard about DVD boycott. We also know that foreign STARLIGHTs love and care about VIXX just as much as we do.
Honestly speaking, we need your help.
It would be deeply appreciated if those of you who agree with our opinion take an action to DVD boycott.
