Sodium fluoride is a highly toxic, inorganic compound that is a waste byproduct from the aluminum, concrete and fertilizer industries. The FDA recognizes it as a hazardous carcinogen not fit for human consumption, and the EPA recognizes it as hazardous waste and an environmental contaminent. It is currently sold under contract to JEA and added to the municipal water supply of Jacksonville at the rate of 0.7mg per liter of water under the reasoning of improving dental health. That's roughly .25mg of fluoride per glass of water. An average toothpaste serving contains about .4mg of the same sodium fluoride, and advises to contact the Poison Control Center if ingested while tap water is has no such warning. 

Sodium fluoride has a long history of misinformation surrounding it in healthcare and politics. The propaganda that it is added to our water supply to benefit our dental health has simply been proven to be false. The fact is fluoride is the only drug that is forced as mass medication of the population with no control of dosing.

Over two dozen independent studies on humans and over one hundred studies on animals have shown that fluoride offers absolutely no health benefits when ingested orally. Overexposure to fluoride can cause brain damage, cancer, decreased bone density and deformaties, lowered IQs, apathy and sterility, not to mention dental fluorosis. So much for dental health, huh?  

Additionally, the human body absorbs fluoride through contact with skin and through inhalation of steam more effectively than ingestion. That sure puts a horrifying spin on a nice relaxing hot shower, doesn't it? To make matters worse, all of that fluoride added to our water goes down the drain or into our lawns and contaiminates our environment.

It is clear that this industrial waste is being added to our water supply for a profit and for our detriment, and in no way benefits us. Put simply, they are poisoning us through the water supply. This is an absolute outrage and has to stop immediately. We start here with this petition. If enough people are educated on this issue and actively oppose the poisoning of our water supply, our environment and our future generations, JEA will have no choice but to stop. Please share this information and petition with as many people as you can and let our voice be heard.
