The class as it stands today doesn't have a builder, it doesn't have a direction and to wait for a resolution of a lawsuit could take years. Sailing as a hobby, sport and recreation is already being threatened. For the type of singlehanded sailing we've enjoyed for the past 40 years to survive, we need to create a situation where we have clear leadership, supportive builders, and the right administration to fight the slide. Spending more years on an internal crisis only means we will loose the war in the long term.

This purpose of this petition is to to ask the International Laser Class Association to consider all of the options available, and not to rule anything out without consulting the very membership they are there to serve.
