This new ballpark for the Miami Marlins is a mile from the nearest train stops. The nearby streets aren't ready for crowds of thousands of walking fans. Thus access would be mainly by car, and that's bad planning when we need to save fuel and avoid traffic jams.

Non-car access to the Marlins Stadium

Greetings,

I just signed the following petition addressed to: Miami City Commission, Miami-Dade County Commission.

----------------
Improve access to the new Marlins Stadium

This new ballpark for the Miami Marlins is a mile from the nearest train stops. The nearby streets aren't ready for crowds of thousands of walking fans. Thus access would be mainly by car, and that's bad planning when we need to save fuel and avoid traffic jams. Here are things you can do quickly to help fans and Marlins Stadium workers get to the ballpark easily, safely, and on time:

1. Create a bicycle boulevard on NW 3rd Street from the Miami River to NW 17th Avenue (or even 22nd).
2. Make NW 17th Avenue a true complete street, with unmistakable provision for bicycling and easier walking between Flagler Street and the Civic Center neighborhood.
3. Sort out the county-city issues over whether the free city shuttles will divert riders from county transit.

Easy access for everyone was one of the big reasons our elected representatives cited for building where they did. Now, it's time to follow through and make access for everybody your urgent priority.

Sincerely,
