As consumers, we have a right to know how the food we buy is produced, including whether it’s genetically engineered. Otherwise, we can’t make informed choices about what’s best for us and our families.

We're facing an onslaught of potential new genetically engineered foods. One company has turned a popular fruit – the apple – into an industrialized product that avoids turning brown when it is cut or bruised. Plus the FDA is preparing to approve genetically engineered salmon, which would be the first genetically engineered animal on the market in the United States. But as consumers, we won’t know the difference without mandatory labeling.

The United States is one of the only developed nations not to require the labeling of genetically engineered foods. Even China labels them!

Ask your members of Congress to support labeling of genetically engineered foods. They need to hear from constituents like you.
