I read in the paper that a man tried to hang his dog on the south side of Chicago, yet no information was given on if this dog even survived or what happened to it. I researched what will happen to the man who attempted hanging his dog and was alarmed that we give nothing but a slap on the wrist for actions like this. Most of us treat our animals like they are part of our family, yet since they don't have a voice to cry for help we do not have equal laws when cruelty occurs. Please be an advocate for animals and help change the law from a misdemeanor to a felony for animal cruelty.
