It's important and utterly neccesary for students of ANY orientation to feel safe among their peers, teachers and mentors. They need to have a place at school where they spend much of their time growing up where they are accepted and welcomed for who they are. Especially in recent times, with many kids resorting to suicide because they felt they had no other option in life, no acceptance. How many of those kids could have been here today if they had somewhere they could go and be happy to be themselves?
